NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB)- Students at Niagara University have announced they will stage a walk-out on Monday “to address social and racial inequality in the local community and on Niagara University campus.”

The students say they’re acting in solidarity with the movement at the University of Missouri.

The group plans to leave classes at 9:00 a.m. and will march through campus, from Gallagher Center to Alumni Hall.

The students say they want a new academic center for Black Studies to facilitate community outreach. They also want students to serve on the center’s board and all related hiring committees, and they want the University to hire minority faculty at the center. They plan to submit this request to Niagara University’s president on Monday.
